This Is project of the Congregation of the Handmaids of The Holy Child Jesus, founded March 8th 1997 at No. 3, Muyiwa Olojo Street Iju, Ifako-Ijaiye LGA, Lagos in response to the dire need of the common man in Iju and environs for quality and affordable health care services.

The takeoff structure was a reconstructed block of four three bedroom flats barely adequate to accommodate the basic services.

The population of the hospital grew so fast that there came a need for a bigger space and this led to the acquisition of a piece of land at Ifako Agege, Lagos. Ancilla Eye Centre moved to Ifako in 2006, when with the help of Christian Blind Mission International (CBMI) the structure was built. The Eye Centre now has an Annex on Christ Avenue; Lekki Phase I.

Ancilla Hospital is currently registered with 50 beds (Iju 20, Ifako 30). The block for the expansion of general services, obstetrics, gynecology, as well as other specialties in Ifako are yet to take off due to financial constraint.

Ancilla offers 24hours service in obstetrics and gynecology, general Surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine, ultrasound scan and laboratory services for in- and out patients.
